INTECH is a unique, exciting interactive centre administered by the educational charity, The Hampshire Technology Centre Trust Ltd, with the specific purpose of promoting the knowledge and understanding of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Aims of the Hampshire Technology Centre Trust Limited
To advance the education, knowledge and understanding of the public, in particular the young, in basic technological and scientific principles and processes, particularly through the improvement of links between industrial, commercial and educational bodies and institutions.

In 2002 INTECH was re-housed into a new 3,500 square metre purpose-built, award winning building at Morn Hill, near Winchester. The multi-million pound project was funded partly through the Millennium Commission, NTL, IBM, the DfES and DTI, SEEDA and HCC.
The stimulating, fun exhibition consists of 100 hands-on interactive exhibits, which communicate the fundamental principles of science and technology and their applications in industry and the home. In 2008 the auditorium was converted into a state of the art digital planetarium, seating 176 people, with funding from SEEDA.
Schools visiting INTECH benefit by participating in a whole host of scientific and technological investigations and hands-on experiences which cover many areas of the curriculum.
INTECH also runs workshops with pre-planned learning outcomes for class-sized groups on topics such as computer aided design and manufacturing and building a radio from scratch. The workshops can be delivered at INTECH or offsite as part of our Outreach programme
Within INTECH the inspirational and lively education team provides curriculum related workshops and work related activities including computer aided design and manufacture. INTECH also offers continuing professional development for teachers.
INTECH holds the STEMPOINT Brokerage contract for Hampshire and Isle of Wight, providing information and links to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Enhancement & Enrichment (E&E) activities. Through this we have a responsibility to provide all schools and colleges with impartial advice and guidance on a wide range of STEM E&E activities, helping them to identify which opportunities can best inspire their young people in STEM. INTECH also holds the STEM Ambassadors contract for Hampshire & Isle of Wight, ensuring all schools and colleges have access to a range of exciting and dynamic role models in STEM. STEM Ambassadors are individuals who are willing to give their time and energy free of charge to help inspire young people in STEM – they can do this in a variety of ways from illustrating specific careers or helping with classroom activities to assisting in extracurricular activities such as clubs, challenges and competitions. The Brokerage and Ambassadors contracts are awarded by STEMNET.
INTECH also has a wider role in the community by presenting exhilarating, educational and fun science shows, such as The Magic of
Chemistry, The Science of Christmas and the science of chocolate.
As well as a superb all-weather centre INTECH offers a variety of flexible facilities for meetings, conferences, launches and hospitality. The 200 seat auditorium with tiered seating has state of the art lighting and sound including an induction loop and air conditioning.
The INTECH shop stocks a wide range of educational and novel toys and gifts.
The car park is spacious and free. If it is full the centre is full!
